Life Legacy

Jerrine Kay (Brown) Johnson, 69, of Westfield, IA lost her long, hard battle with cancer on November 21, 2013. Funeral services will be 10AM Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at the Congregational UCC in Westfield. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7PM Sunday at the church.

Jerrine was born on November 20, 1944 to Wallace and Marietta Brown, and was the oldest of five children. She graduated from Akron High School in 1963 and Ellis Beauty School in Sioux City, IA. She married Francis “Sam” Johnson in 1964 and they were married for 39 years. Together they raised their two children, Jamie and Rick.

For most of her life she lived in Madison, NE working as a beautician and then she worked at Dale Electronics in Norfolk, NE and Yankton, SD. Jerrine also lived in Alcester, SD where she worked at Custom Coils. Jerrine then retired and moved in with her mom, Marietta, in Westfield, IA.

Jerrine loved to cook and garden. Most of all, Jerrine loved her family, her church and sports. She was a loyal fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers for years.

Jerrine is survived by her mother, Marietta; two sisters, Wanda Kayl of Grand Island, NE and Pat (Randy) Benton of Akron, IA; two sisters-in-law Jeannie Brown of Vermillion, SD and Verlene Nappe of Carroll, IA; one brother, Bill (Sue) Brown of Akron, IA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her children, Jamie (Kyle) Norseen of Alcester, SD and Rick (Tricia) Johnson of Alcester, SD; six grandchildren, Brenden (Amanda), Kaytlen, Hanna, and Brock Norseen; and Sammi and Zach Johnson; and one great-grandson, Dale Norseen.

Her husband, Sam; father, Wallace Brown; brother, Wayne Brown; and brothers-in-law, Marty Kayl and Willie Nappe preceded her in death.
