LE MARS, Iowa - Jason Michael Heeren, 22, of Le Mars died Saturday, Aug. 30, 1997, at the Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colo.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church-ELCA in Le Mars, with the Rev. David Kramer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Heeren was born June 12, 1975, in Le Mars, the son of Dave and Jean (Scheitler) Heeren. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was raised in Le Mars, where he graduated from Le Mars Central High School in 1993. In high school, he was a student manager of the football team and active in drama. He was presently a senior at the University of Iowa majoring in elementary education. He was employed part-time at the University of Iowa Medical Center in the purchasing department. He enjoyed football and basketball.

Survivors include his parents of Le Mars; a brother and his fiance, Brian Heeren and Heather Carrillo of Coralville, Iowa; paternal grandmother, Regina Heeren of Le Mars; maternal grandmother, Charlene Scheitler of Le Mars; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harry Heeren and his maternal grandfather, Ray Scheitler.
