Le Mars, Iowa - Beitelspacher, 60, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in Rapid City, South Dakota following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Rev. Gary Landsness of St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home. The family will be present to greet friends from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leonard's grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Roland Swanson, Ryan Beitelspacher, Kyle Beitelspacher, Troy Beitelspacher, Brandon Popken, Chris Popken and Jeff Popken.

Leonard Arley Beitelspacher was born on September 14, 1952 in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Henry and Etta (Kleihauer) Beitelspacher. He was raised on a farm near Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1971. Leonard and Collette Bergeron were united in marriage on April 28, 1973 in Sioux City, Iowa. The couple made Le Mars their home.

Leonard began his career with O.H Livermore Construction following high school. He would later branch out on his own and begin his work independently as Beitelspacher Drywall. His attention to detail and meticulous work can be seen throughout the area in the numerous projects he completed. He was a Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching golf on television. Leonard also enjoyed hanging out with his friends at the Red Hanke.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Collette of Le Mars, IA; his children and their spouses, Jennifer and Tony Orban of Le Mars, IA, Lori and Jeremiah Saul of Sioux City, IA, Marshall and Elaine Beitelspacher of West Des Moines, IA and Cole and Sarah Beitelspacher of Le Mars, IA; grandchildren, Alex and Samantha Orban, Taylor and Derek Myers, Lucas, Lauren, Patrick, Albert, Junior and Kylee Saul, Kayla, Claire and Isabella Beitelspacher; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Arley and Sharon Beitelspacher of Watertown, SD, Betty and Ken Swanson of Le Mars, IA, Sharon and Duane Popken of Brunsville, IA, Larry and Pat Beitelspacher of Le Mars, IA, Henry and Becky Beitelspacher of Brunsville, IA, Alvin and Clorinda Beitelspacher of Sioux Falls, IA; a brother-in-law Marvin Urban of Le Mars, IA; mother and father-in-law, William and Anne Bergeron of Sioux City, IA; sisters-and brothers-in law and their spouses, Dale and Jean Monroe of Cedar Rapids, IA, John and Rose Bergeron of Scottsdale, AZ, Dan, Mary and Katie Scholl of Sioux City, IA; Bob and Liz Olson of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister Shirley Urban.
