Mary L. Beach, 55, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday May 14, 2013 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Monday with the family present from 5-8 and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral on Tuesday.

Mary Lou Beach was born on March 10, 1958 in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Fred “Fritz” and Jolene (Wilke) Hamann. She attended school in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1977.

On July 16, 1977 Mary and Bill Beach were united in marriage at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Mary worked as a homemaker and was a devoted wife and mother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed flower gardening, yard work and walks with Bill and her puppies. She and Bill spent their time together watching the Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men and shared a weekly movie night. Her family remembers going out to eat for birthdays and special occasions and her love for holidays spent with them. Mary took great pride in her appearance, especially her fingernails. She was known as a thoughtful person and was always finding ways to care for others.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, Bill of Le Mars; a daughter, Kymberly Ann Beach of Le Mars; a son, Kyle William Beach of Le Mars; granddaughters Taylor Marie and Bailey Briann Beach of Le Mars; her mother Jolene Hamann of Le Mars; two sisters Margie and David Pigg of Le Mars and Joy and Dennis Tooker of Orange City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred “Fritz” Hamann; an infant brother Terry; her father-in-law, John Beach; and a niece, Amy Beach.
