Lennice Allen, 86, of Fresno, California, formerly of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012 in Fresno, California following a brief illness. A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Rev. Greg Gabriel of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Lennice Allen was born on September 24, 1924 in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Emil and Hannah (Ommen ) Neisius. She attended school in Le Mars. Lennice moved to California in the 1940s. She worked at Shell Oil and later was employed with the Fresno Unified School District.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Mark Allen of Fresno, CA; granddaughter, KelliAnn of Salt Lake City, UT; nieces Linda Niehus and her husband Randy of Le Mars, IA and Betty Neisius of Marcus, IA; and other great - nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, Douglas who passed away on August 14, 2012; and a brother and his wife Merle and Viola Neisius.
