Derek Jacobson

Derek Landon Jacobson, old son of Russell and Julie Jacobson of Hawarden, former of Akron, died Saturday (March 19, 1983) at his home in Hawarden of sudden infant death syndrome.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron. The Rev. Benard Nelson officiated. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Akron.

Derek was born Feb. 18, 1983, at Iowa City.

Survivors include his parents; one brother, Justin A. at home; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Betty Jacobson of Akron; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Verlin Sturtevant of Hawarden and maternal great-grandfathers, Lawrence C. Moore of Sioux City and Lyle F. Sturtevant of Sioux City.
