David Swanson

David Swanson, 94, Two Harbors, Minn., formerly of Le mars, died Tuesday (June 19, 1984) in a nursing home in Two Harbors.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Carroll funeral home in Deer River, Minn. Graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Riverside cemetery in Akron, under direction of the Mauer-Johnson funeral home in Le Mars.

Mr. Swanson was born June 26, 1889, at Elm Dale, Minn. He was a veteran of World War 1. He married Ella Anderson Sept. 1, 1938, at Bemidji, Minn. She died in 1969. He farmed in Minnesota and the Le Mars area until his retirement.

Survivors include one son, David of Stillwater, Okla.; two daughters, Genvieve Ellquist of Two Harbors and Leona Sabol of Shingle Springs, Calif.; one brother, Walter of Chatfield, Minn.; one sister, Ellen Swanson of Park Rapids, Minn.; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchldren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
