Note: The original and alternative spelling of her maiden name was Andresen. But through various family members it was changed to Anderson.

Marie C. Heyl

Marie C. Heyl, 94, Lake Benton, Minn., formerly of Le Mars, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 1988, in Sunrise Manor nursing home in Sioux City.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Murer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The Rev. John Brogaard officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars, under direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Heyl, the former Marie Anderson, was born March 26, 1894, in Union County, S. D., to Christian And Margaretha (Selck) Anderson. She married Louis Heyl Dec. 10, 1913, in Union County. He died in 1939. She was a homemaker and had lived in the Lake Benton area from 1925 to 1987 when she moved to Sunrise Manor.

Mrs. Heyl was a member of Hope Lutheran church in Sioux City.

Survivors include a son, Marvin of South Sioux City; a daughter, Mrs. Thorvald (Arlene) Knudsen of Loveland, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; three brother, Fern Anderson of Akron, George Anderson of Kingsley and Edward Anderson of Spencer; and a sister, Mrs. Minnie King of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, a daughter, four brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
