EARLY DAY FARMER OF COUNTY IS SUMMONED

Alex Morrison, widely known early day farmer of Plymouth County, died Wednesday, February 20, 1946, in Le Mars, at the age of 86 years, 5 months, and 5 days.

Alexander Ross Morrison was born in Nova Scotia, September 15, 1859, and came to Le Mars over 60 years ago and worked as a carpenter in Le Mars for several years, after which he moved to Preston township, which he moved to Preston township, where he farmed until retiring.

In 1890 he married Susan McGillvery, of Le Mars. Their union was blessed with one daughter, Mrs. Henry Collman, who lives northeast of Akron. The Morrisons also raised three orphan children, Mrs. Hazel Boahme, of Burbank, Calif.; Herbert McGillvery, of Wessington Springs, S. D., and arthur McGilvery, of Wolsey, S. D. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. S. G. McLean, who lives in Mova Scotia, and Mrs. A. G. Thompson, of Fullerton, Calif.

Funeral services were held at the Plymouth Presbyterian Church Friday afternoon, with Rev. Theo. Seibert officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
