ESTEEMED AKRON WOMAN DIES AFTER A LONG ILLNESS
Last Rites Are Held Sunday Afternoon For Mrs. Mina Rounds
The final summons came to Mrs. Mina (Marvin) Rounds, a revered and lifelong resident of this community, last Wednesday afternoon at the Akron Hospital, after about a year's illness, aged 66 years and 22 days.
Mina Margaret Schmidt was born February 5, 1900, to Mr. and Mrs. John F. Schmidt on a farm northeast of Akron, in Portland township. On august 19, 1925, she was united in marriage with Marvin Rounds in Trinity Lutheran church in Akron, Rev. F. A. Meske officiating. They farmed wast of Akron a number of years and later moved to Union County, S. D., and farmed there until Mr. Rounds passed away in 1954. She had resided i Akron the past nine years.
Left to mourn her departure are two sons, Dallas J., of Gordonsville, Tenn.; and Robrert R. of Valiant, Okla.; four sisters, Mrs. Herman Andresen, Mrs. John Erks and Mrs. George frerichs, all of Akron, and Mrs. Elmer Molzen of Le Mars; two half-sisters, Mrs. Tina Kallsen, of Le Mars, and Mrs. Hannah Wubbe of Emden, Ill.; three brothers, Elmer schmidt of Akron, and Bill and John schmidt of Le Mars, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in Trinity Lutheran Curch, Rev. Harris Hostager officiating. Richard Smith was vocalist and Dianna Willer was orangist. Caskerbearers were Marlow Schmidt, Gene Erks, Raymond Andresen, Donald Schmidt, Dwayne Erks and Virgis Frerichs, nephews of the deceased. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
