Heart Attack Proves Fatal To Salesman

E. E. Bleasdell Falls Dead While Cranking Car

Death came unexpectedly and without warning to Elmer E. Bleasdell living at 409 Eighth Street SW, a resident of Le Mars for thirty-two years and widely known in Plymouth and adjoining counties as a salesman of food products.

During the blizzard that raged Monday morning Mr. Bleasdell was cranking his car preparatory to going down town about 10 o'clock when he reeled over in the snow. His son, Gale, rushed from the house to render assistance and found his father lifeless. Heart failure coupled with over exertion was the cause of death.

Mr. Bleasdell was considered extremely active and enjoyed excellent health, never having suffered from any ailment for many years.

Born In Iowa

Elmer E. Bleasdell was a native of Iowa and was born at Clarence, Iowa, February 18, 1877. He received a good education and after leaving school engaged in the profession of teaching. He taught school at Pierson, Iowa, for ten years. While living in Le Mars he was engaged in selling farm and stock products and conducted a bicycle business.

Mr. Bleasdell was a member of the First Methodist church and was a active worker in the Sunday school and was Sunday school secretary for seventeen years. He was interested in political and community affairs and was an ardent temperance advocate.

Mr. Bleasdell was married to Edna Gates of Kingsley, October 11, 1906.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Eldon Bleasdell of Winfield, Kansas, Gale Gleasdell of Le Mars, a brother, John B. Bleasdell, of Quimby, Iowa, three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Summers, Kent, Wash., Mrs. Addie Stagg, Whitetail, Montana, Mrs. Abbie Marsh, Bryan, Ohio.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 in the Methodist church. Rev. F. E. Burgess of Spencer and Rev. W. M. Hubbard, pastor of the church, will conduct the services.

Funeral arrangements are in charge of Mauer's Funeral home.
