AKRON GIRL DIES SUNDAY AFTER A LONG ILLNESS

Last Rites Are Held Wednesday Afternoon For Judy Baldwin

Miss Judy Baldwin passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Baker, west of town, on Sunday morning, February 4, 1951, after an extended illness from a complication of ailments. She was 21 years, 10, months, and 23 days of age.

Julia Fay Baldwin was born March 12, 1929, in Sioux City, Iowa. When about three years of age, she came to Akron with her parents and has lived here ever since, except when she was away at school. She was a graduate of the Akron High School and of the Pre-Nursing school in Aberdeen, S. D., and also attended South Dakota State College at Brookings for one year.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran Church here and was an active member of the church, being a teacher in the Sunday school and a member of the curch choir. Her faith in her Saviour and Lord was a source of strength, help and endurance during many weeks of illness. She was always interested in others and found great delight in doing deeds of kindness. Her bright and cheerful nature endeared her to all who gained her aquaintances.

She leaves to mourn her untimely departure, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rollo J. Baker; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Kratochvil, of Brookings, S. D.; one step-sister, Mrs. Barbara Burnight, of Washington D. D.; two step-brothers, Jack Baker, of Akron, and Slade Bader, of Tacoma, Wssh.; her grandmother, Mr. Fred Irwin, of San Francisco, Calif.; many other relatives, as well as a great number of friends, who extend heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.

Funeral services were held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wednesday afternoon, preceded by a brief service at the home, Pastor David J. Roy officiating. The solo, "Hold Thou My Hand," was sung by Miss Jean Oppedahl, accompanied by Mrs. Henning shoulberg. A male quartet, composed of J. R. Shoulberg, Harry Nelson, Clifford and Arden Johnson, sang "O Love That Will Not Let Me Go" and "Abide With Me," Pallbearers were Lee Anderson, Richard Coyle, Arvin Finzen, Lowell Hoschler, Roger Johnson and Wayne Stoutenburg. Interrment was in Riverside Cemetery.
