Note: The gravestone spells the last name Betsworth.

Old Mr. Bettsworth, an old resident, living near Merrill, a consistent member of the Methodist church of this place, died last Saturday after a short spell of neuralgia of the heart.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Griggs. Burial took place at Le Mars cemetery Sunday afternoon, attended by a large number of mourning friends. "Blessed are they who die in the Lord."
