Raymond Becker dies at hospital
Raymond Jacob Becker, 62, prominent Plymouth township farmer, died Saturday at Floyd Valley hospital in Le Mars, after an illness of several months. He had been hospitalized for 10 hours.
Mr. Becker was active in Farm Bureau, ASCS and community affairs. he was a livestock and grain farmer and an ASCS officer for many years.
He was born March 14, 1905, in Plymouth county near Merrill and was a lifelong resident of Washington and Plymouth townships near Merrill. He was preceded in death by his mother, Christina Schneider Becker.
Nov. 19, 1930, his marriage to Marjorie C. Dunn took place in Le Mars. He was a graduate of Le Mars high school.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Mauer funeral chapel. Rev. George Dunn will occiciate and burial will be in Floyd Valley cemetery near Merrill.
Survivors are his wife, marjorie, rural Merrill; a son Gene, rural Hinton; two daughters Mrs. Harold (Janice) Albert, rural Le Mars, and Mrs. James (Rae) Nanninga, Orange City; his father, Joseph Becker, rural Merrill; three sisters, Dorothea Becker, Alice Becker and Alma Becker, all of rural Mrrrill; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a son, David.
