Mrs. Joseph Crow passed away at her home in Akron, Tuesday morning, April 12, 1921, of cancer, after an extended illness, being confined to her bed during most of the past six months. She bore her suffereings with Christian fortitude and cheerfulness. She attained to the age of 69 years, 4 months and 3 days.

Mary M. Lilly was born near Moundsville, West Virginia, May 9th, 1851, where she grew to yong womanhood and was united in marriage to Joseph Crow on August 10th, 1871. To this union was born seven children, four of whom have preceded her in death--Russel W., Edna May, and aHarry Webster Crow, and ara Leffingwell.

Besides the bereaved husband, there are left to mourn her loss one son, Lewis crow, of Geddes, S. D., and two daughters, Mrs. Frank Wilcox, of Union county, S. D.; also five grandchildren, to all o whom the community extends its sympathy in this hour of sorrow.

Mr. and Mrs. Crow came to Akron vicinity about twenty years ago and during the past eleven years have made a home in Akron. Mrs. Crow united with the M. E. church in girlhood and has been a consistent member ever since. A loving and devoted wife and mother and a kind and helpful friend and neighbor, she will be sidely missed and sincerely mourned. She was a woman of noble and sympathetic impulses and her long life was filled with good deeds.

Funeral servcies were held in the Akron M. E. church this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock, following a brief service at the home, conducted by her pastor, REv. Carl Hammer, and a large number of friends attended as a last tribute of respect. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.

Relatives who came from a distance were: Lewis Crow, of Geddes, S. D., W. H. Leffingwell, of Ludden, N. Dak., Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Card, of Hawarden, and Mrs. Fred Dow, of Elk Point.
