DEATH COMES TO MRS. DELLA SAYLES
Rites Held Thursday For An Esteemed Akron Resident
Mrs. Della Sayles, an esteemed and long-time resident of Akron and vicinity, passed away Monday evening, November 10, 1952, at the Akron Community Hospital, where she had been a aptient since suffering a hip fracture last Thursday. She attained the age of 77 years, 11 months and 15 days.
Della Crow daughter of Joseph and Mary Lilly Crow, was born near Moundsville, West Virginia, December 26, 1874. At the age of nine she moved with her parents to Ellendale, North Dakota, and the following spring located at Luddon, North Dakota, where she grew to young womanhood. In the fall of 1894 the family moved to Milnerville, Plymouth county, Iowa, and farmed in that vicinity. Miss Crow clerked in stores in Akron for a number of years. On September 27, 1911, she was united in marriage with Frank Adelmo Sayles, and they made their home on the farm near Richland, S. D., until March, 1943, when they moved to Akron to reside.
Into their home a daughter, mary Ruth, was born on march 8, 1914. She passed away December 23, 1916. Mrs. Sayles was preceded in death by her husband on January 16, 1948.
She was a member of the Akron Methodist church and of Vesper Chapter, Order of the eastern Star.
Surviving are nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.Funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon in Wesley Methodist church, conducted by Rev. H. Myron Braun. Interment in Riverside cemetery.
