HERMAN REEMTS CALLED BY DEATH LAST WEDNESDAY

Rites Held Saturday For Long-Time Area Resident

Herman Reemts, well-known and respected resident of this community most of his life, passed away Wednesday, November 17, at the Akron Hospital after an extended illness, aged 79 years, one month and 11 days.

Herman Fredrick Reemts was born October 6, 1886, at Forreston, Ill., son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Reemts, early day Akron residents. He was confirmed in St. John's Lutheran church, Preston township. On February 18, 1914, he was united in marriage here with Miss Minnie Witt and they engaged in farming near here until his retirement in 1952. Akron has since remained their home. Two daughters came to bless their union.

His parents, four sister and three brothers preceded him in death.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, of Akron.

Survivors, besides his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Arlo Rozell and Mrs. Louis Frerichs, both of Akron, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in Trinity Lutheran church, Rev. Harris Hostager officiating. Mrs. Darwin Klemme and Mrs. Norman neilsen were vocalists and Mrs. Glen GAbel was organist.

Casket bearers were Richard Witt, Jack Borchers, Dennis Rozell, Clarence Kallsen, Marlin Harms, and Roger Frerichs. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.

Grandchildren who attended from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Schiavone from Philidelphia, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. John Curth from Chicago, Ill., and A3C Roger Frerichs from Chanute AFB, Ill.
