Ulrich Susemihl

Ulrich Theodore Susemihl, 91, Plymouth county native and lifelong resident, died Dec. 7, 1979, at Floyd Valley hospital after a brief illness. Services were held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran church, Johnson township, rural Merrill.Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home. Rev. Robert Salge officiated.

Mr. Susemihl was born Aug. 2, 1888 at rural Merrill to Julius and Emma Ewart Susemihl. He farmed in Plymouth county, rural Merrill, until he retired to Leeds in 1957. He moved to Plymouth Manor in LeMars in November, 1978.

His marriage to Marie Von Hagel took place March 8, 1921 in Johnson township Lutheran church, rural Merrill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1966; a brother, Fred, and a sister, Julia Halweg.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church.

Survivors are a daughter, Wilma Less, rural Merrill, and two sons, Walter of Moville and Arnold of rural Merrill. There are 8 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
