Walter Henry Buhman Succumbs to brief illness of appendicitis, leaving a wife and twin children

Walter Henry Buhman aged 30 years. He was well known resident of this vicinity for several years, died at a local hospital in LeMars on Sunday morning Aug. 19, 1923. He was stricken with appendicitis a short time ago and brought to the hospital to undergo an operation. His condition was serious from the first and though he rallied from the operation, he was unable to recuperate and passed a way.

Mr Buhman was born thirty years ago at Charter Oak, Crawford Co. Iowa July 26, 1893, and came to Plymouth County when a youth of eighteen and worked at farming and then began farming on his own account. He was engaged in farming the Henry Atwood place three miles west of town, when he suffered the illness which proved fatal. Eight years ago he was united in marriage with Minnie Utech, a daughter of Mr and Mrs Paul Utech of Washington Township. To their union two children, twins, were born. They are Marvin Paul and Marvell Luella. Besides his sorrowing wife and children, the deceased leaves to mourn, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buhman of Charter Oak, Crawford Co., Iowa, his brothers and sisters who are Jack, Henry, and Max of this vicinity, William residing in Sioux City, Charles living in Minnesota, Mrs Pete Peterson of Merrill, Mrs. Schuldt of Merrill, and Mrs Fred Bruns of Minnasota.

The funeral will be held this afternoon from the home at one o'clock and services will be held at the John Lutheran Township church where interment will be made. Rev. Gustave Meyer officiating.

Mr Buhman was a good citizen, a loving husband and father and a friendly neighbor and his early death is regretted by a large number of friends and acquaintances who extended sympathy to the bereaving relatives.
