Le Mars Globe-Post, Le Mars, Plymouth, Iowa, USA Monday, February 27, 1961

William H. Jahn, Le Mars, passed away February 25, 1961 at Sacred Heart hospital after a sickness, of only a few days. He was 74 years of age.

Mr. Jahn was born November 11, 1886 in Sioux County. He ran a gas truck at Merrill; later the municipal light plant at Merrill after which he worked the last few years for the city of Le Mars.

He lived his entire life in Plymouth county, mostly in Merrill until a few years ago when he moved to Le Mars. He was a great baseball catcher and played with the Struble Canaries.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 27 at 8 p. m. at St, John's American Lutheran church with Rev. L. L. Belk officiating. Burial was in the city cemetery under direction of the Luken Funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, the former Minnie Buhman; a son, LaMont Jahn of Williston, North
Dakota; a daughter, Mrs. Ed Chimlewski of Foley, Minn.; a stepdaughter, Ms. William Muir of Le Mars, a stepson, Marvin Buhman of Le Mars; eleven grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Freda Stahl
