DEATH SUMMONS MRS. LYDIA YEGGE

Burial Rites for Mother of Akron Woman Held Here Last Week

Mrs. Lydia A. Yegge, mother of Mrs. A. Huckert, of this city, passed away at the old family homestead at Alpena, S. D., Sunday, August 22, 1937, at 11:50 o'clock, at the ripe age of 90 years, 5 months, and 21 days.

Lydia Ann Stevens was born March 1, 1847, at Pittsburgh, Pa. She moved with her parents from Pennsylbania to Scott county, Iowa, where she was married to Charles Martin Yegge in 1868. They moved to Alpena, S. D., in the fall of 1883.

This union was blessed with ten children; William F. and Thomas B, of Wessington Sprngs, S. D.; Catherine Y. Huckert, of Akron, Iowa; Frances H. Riley, of Madison, Wis.; Minnie Plate, of East St. Louis, Ill; Daniel E. and Josephine Yegge, of Alpena, S. D.; Mary A. Huckert, of Alpena S. D.; Martin F., of Mitchell, S. D.; Mitchel, S. D., and Charles H., now deceased. Beides her nine children, Mrs. Yegge is survived by 25 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the home at Alpena, S. D. Thursday morning, August 26, conducted by Rev. Eshelman. The body was brought to Akron, Thursday afternoon, and interment made in Riverside cemetery beside her departed husband and son.
