Ernest Marienau

Funeral services for Ernest William Marienau, 67, were held at Madison, South Dakota on April 2, 1959. Rev. Robert Wegner officiated and burial was in Graceland cemetery in Madison.

Mr. Marienau was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest H. Marienau. He spent his early life in Plymouth county and later moved to South Dakota.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Einisten Johnson; a step-daughter and two step-ons and several grandchildren. He has three brothers, Ed and Ben Marienau of Merrill and Otto Marienau of Worthing. South Dakota. There are five surviving sisters. Minnie Peterson and Rose Schuldt of Sioux City; Anna Albright of Brunsville, Mary Wilken of Le Mars and, Elizabeth Bennett of Dupree, South Dakota.

Ernest Marienau (Merrill Special) ' (Although the Globe-Post Monday printed, the story of the death of Ernest William Marienau of Madison, South Dakota the following has been requested by the family to be printed,)

Mr. Marienau was born February 29, 1982 at Merrill and was 67 years of age. He was sick only a short time and was a laborer. Mr. Marienau was a resident of Plymouth county near Merrill until 1939 when he moved to Madison where he passed away in a hospital on March 28 1959.

Funeral services were held at Hatlendeck funeral home at Madison on April 2 with Rev. Robert Wegner officiating and burial was in Graceland cemetery at Madison.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Donald Johnson of Madison, and two grandchildren. Five sisters, Mrs. Thomas Petersen anil Mrs. Fred Schultz of Sioux City, Mrs. George Wilkens of LeMars; Mrs. George Albright of Brunsville; Mrs. Charles Bennett of Dupree. South Dakota; three brothers. Otto of Worthing, South Dakota; Ed and Ben of Merrill.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. H Marienau, former Plymouth county residents He was a member of the American Legion at Madison and military rites were conducted at the grave side.
