MRS. ALTA REMBE DIES AT HOSPITAL AFTER YEAR'S ILLNESS
Alta Louise Rembe, 66, a Le Mars resident since 1946, died Friday at Floyd Valley hospital after an illness of a year.
Alta Faust was born March 14, 1901, at Almoral in Delawae county, the daughter of the late Charles and Minnie (Livingston) Faust.
She came to Plymouth county in 1922. She moved to Le Mars in 1946 and had lived here since. Her husband was the late Philip Rembe.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Plymouth Presbyterian church near Brunsville. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home in Le Mars. A prayer service will be held Monday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Charles Kruse will officiate at last rites.
Mrs. Rembe was a member of the Plymouth Presbyterian church and ladies aid. She cared for numerous elderly people and foster children in her home during her lifetime.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Phyllis) Dommer of White, S. D.; a son, Elmer Childs of Jasper, Minn.; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three sister, Mrs. Elsie Nerby, Iowa City, Mrs. Myrtle McGregor, Le Mars, and Mrs. Minnie May, Manchester, and four brothers, Evelyn Faust, Delhi; Clarence, Iowa City; Howard, Le Mars, and Raymond, Tuscon, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Gertrude, and a brother, Elmer.
