PRESTON FARMER DIES THURSDAY
PHILIP REMBE WHO LIVED IN PRESTON ALMOST SIXTY YEARS IS SUDDENLY STRICKEN
Philip Rembe, a pioneer resident of Preston township, died Thursday, November 9, at Vilas, South Dakota, where he had gone the Monday previous to look after his farm. Mr. Rembe had completed his business and was waiting for the train when stricken with a heart attack and died in a short time.
Philip Rembe was a son of George Rembe and was born April 28, 1875, on the farm where he lived all his life. He had been in good health and his sudden death came as a surprise to family and friends. Mr. Rembe was married Juy 9, 1929, to Alta Childs, who with one daughter, Phyllis May, aged 3, and a stepson, Elmer, survives him. Mr. Rembe is also survived by two and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Crost and Miss Ann, of Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Dolly Pierson, of Cherokee.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Plymouth Presbyterian church, of which he had been a member since boyhood, the pastor, Rev. W. E. Smith, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
