HOLD RITES FOR ESTEEMED AKRON WOMAN SUNDAY

Mrs. Ernest Anderson, Resided Many Years In This Community

Mrs. Anna Anderson departed this life on Wednesday forenoon, September 17, 1952, at the Akron Community Hospital following a heart attack. She had been a surgical patient there for about two weeks and appeared to be making a favorable recovery. At the time of her passing, she was 62 years, 5 months and 1 day of age.

Anna Johnson was born at Charter Oak, Iowa, April 16, 1890. When she was about 2 1/2 years of age, she was taken by her parents to Sweden for several months stay. When they returned to America, they settled on a farm near Leeds, Iowa, northeast of Sioux City. Later as a young woman she was employed in Sioux City, On July 12, 1916, she was united in, marriage with Ernest Anderson. The pastor of Immanuel Lutheran church, of Akron, Rev. D. A. Knock, officiated. They settled on farms in the vicinity of Akron and throughout the last 32 years they had lived on the farm now their home. Soon after their marriage, she became a member of Immanuel church. In Immanuel she was faithfully active in so many ways, and gave evidence of the high place her church held in her heart and life. Especially in the Women's Missionary Society and in the Ladies' Aid did she take an active part. She will be remembered by her friends as ready and willing to serve and help out wherever needed, without thought of herself. In her home she fulfilled her part as a Christian wife and mother.

Those left to mourn her departure include: Her husband, Ernest; one daughter, Mrs. LaVerne Dowling, of Akron; four sons, Henry, of Sioux City, Russell and Milton, of Akron, and Stanley, "of Cherry" Point Airbase, North Carolina; one sister, Mrs. Min" me Johnson; two brothers, Harry and Frank Johnson, both of Akron; seven grandchildren, other relatives and her many friends.

Funeral services were held at the Immanuel Lutheran church last Sunday afternoon, preceded by a brief service at the family home. The church, its balcony and basement were filled with friends and relatives for this service. Pastor David J. Roy officiated. Appropriate vocal music was furnished by Mr. Edor Nelson, with Mrs. Henning Shoulberg at the organ.

Pallbearers were Walter Carlson, David Johnson, Clifford Kilstrom, Gordon Kilstrom and Walter Muff. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.

Cpl. Stanley R. Anderson came by plane from Cherry Point Air Base, U. S. Marines, Morehead City, North Carolina, to attend his mother's funeral.
