DEATH SUMMONS ALVA BELLWOOD

Rites Held Monday Morning For Lifelong Local Resident

A well-known and respected resident of this community, Alva Bellwood, received the final summons last Friday at his home, aged 72 years, 4 months, and 22 days.

He was born March 10, 1894, to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bellwood west of Akron, in Union county, S. D., but spent most of his life in this city. He was the first local man to enlist for service in World War 1.

On August 8, 1946, he was united in marriage with Evie Parker in Akron, who survives, along with three step-children. Mrs. Laurie Tucker, Mrs. Dorothy Atterburry and Alvin Parker, all of California, and two sisters, Mrs. Della Orth and Mrs. Ernest Henke.

Funeral services were held Monday at the West Side Church of Christ, Rev. Dean Orris officiating. Military rites were conducted at graveside in Riverside cemetery by members of Hoschler Post, American Legion.
