Note: Her mother's maiden name was Mansell. She is buried in Hillside Cemetery.

Death of Mrs. L. C. Brown

Mrs. L. C. Brown died at her home in Washington township shortly after 1:30 o’clock of brights disease at the age of 52 years.

She had been sick for several months and everything that medical skill could do for her to save her life was done but the ailment that threatened her could not be thwarted.

She was a woman of exceptionally noble characteristics and greatly devoted to her husband and children and most greatly loved by her neighbors.

Deceased maiden’s name was Sarah Jane Tutton and was born in Davenport fifty-two years ago. She was united in marriage with L. C. Brown in 1876. Seven children survive her three of whom are living at home and the other four are married.

All of the children were home for the funeral. The funeral was held from the Methodist church in Merrill on Monday, the services being conducted by Rev. Gilbert.
