Note: In family records her name is Mary so Maime may have been her nickname. Her mother, Hannah, maiden name was Mansell and was first married to a George Tutton who died during the Civil War. Her mother then married William Stinton.
Mrs. Maime Lias, 86, Pioneer Family Member, Dies in Tacoma, Washington
Word has been received here by relatives of the death Sunday, Feb. 22, of Mrs. Mamie Lias, 86, former Plymouth County resident and member of a pioneer family. She died at a Tacoma, Wash., hospital and was buried beside her husband, William Lias, at Corvallis, Mont.
Mamie Stinton was born June 21, 1866, in Clinton County, Iowa. She moved with her parents to Plymouth county in 1871, where the Stinton family homesteaded. After her marriage the couple lived in North Dakota and Grass Range, Mont.
Mrs. Lias is survived by two daughters and a son: Viola Harris of Tacoma, Wash., Eldia McCollum and Claire Lias, both of Seattle. Also surviving are three brothers. Ira Stinton of Le Mars, Robert Stinton of Brush, Colo., and George of Frazee, Minn., also several grandchildren great-grandchildren.
