George H. Greenwood

George H. Greenwood, 67, Merrill, died Monday (Jan. 22,1973) at his residence after a 1-year illness. He was a lifetime Plymouth county resident and had farmed west of Merrill in Liberty township until retiring to Merrill two years ago.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Merrill United Methodist church with Rev. Larry Vallery officiating. Burial will be in Merrill Hillside cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mauer funeral home.

Mr. Greenwood was born July 17, 1905, on a farm in Plymouth county in Liberty township, the son of the late Hiram and Barbara Barnett Greenwood. He was never married. Mr. Greenwood was a member of Merrill United Methodist church and he had served three years in the United States army.

He is survived by four sisters Emma Albright, Mrs. Margaret Rozell and Mrs. Elizabeth Cumihow all of Merrill and Mrs. Alice Lucey of Le Mars.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, William, John, Frank and Edward, and by a sister, Mrs. Walter Berger.
