Duane V. Anderson

Duane V. Anderson, 57, Sioux City, died Monday (May 12, 1986) in the Veterans Administration hospital in Omaha, Neb., of a heart ailment.

Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron, Iowa. The Rev. Benard A. Nelson officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery at Akron, under the direction of the Christy Morningside funeral home, Sioux City. Visitation Was at the church Wednesday from noon until service time.

Mr. Anderson was born Sept. 22, 1928 in Akron and graduated from Akron Community high school. He married Margarett M. Pithan Aug. 22, 1948, in Akron. He lived in Sioux City for a number of years before moving to O'Neill, Neb., for a time. He had lived in Sioux City the last several years. Mr. Anderson was a driver for Farner-Bocken Co., United Wholesalers and Wonder Bread Bakery. He then became a broker for IDS Brokerage Co. and West American Co. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles of South Sioux City. He was a Lutheran.

Survivors include his mother, Edna Anderson of Sioux City; two sons, Michael Sr. of Omaha and John of Hinton, la.; two daughters, Cindee Gapp of Cortez, Colo., and Vickee Plafcan of Waterbury, Neb.; a sister, Elaine Manion of Baton Rouge, La., and 11 grandchildren.
