John H. Von Hagel

John Henry Von Hagel, 89, Akron, died Saturday (May 10, 1986) in the Akron city hospital after a long illness.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity Lutheran church in Akron. The Rev. Marvin Mueller officiated. Organist was Pam Richards. "My Faith Looks Up To Thee" and "0 God Our Help in Ages Past", were sung by the congregation. Burial was in Riverside cemetery under the direction of Schroeder funeral home. Military graveside rites were conducted by Hoschler American Legion post 186 of
Akron.

Mr. Von Hagel was born May 23, 1896 in Union county,. South Dakota near Akron to Albert and Lena Fiebing Von Hagel. He served in the U.S. army in France during World War I under General John Pershing. He was employed for many years as an engineer in the Akron Light plant. Mr. Von Hagel was a 68-year member of the American Legion of Akron.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Anna Long of Akron, and a brother, George Von Hagel of Akron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Albert and Gerhardt; and two sisters, Mary and Maidie.
