DEATH COMES TO AKRON RESIDENT EARLY SATURDAY

Last Rites Are Held Monday Afternoon For N. M. Hansen

N. M. Hansen, an esteemed and long-time resident of Akron and vicinity, passed away early Saturday morning, July 10, 1954,. in Sf. –Joseph's Hospital, Sioux City, after suffering a fractured hip. in a fall in his home, here July 4. He was aged 80 years, 1 month and 2 days.

N. Miller Hansen was born June 8, 1874, in Aardhous, Denmark, and came to the United States in 1889. He was united in marriage with Edith Waterbury, of Akron, in 1907 at Le-Mars. After several years residence here the couple moved to a farm near Jefferson, S. D., in 1920. In 1929 they returned to Akron and Mr. Hansen went into the plumbing and heating business, in which he continued until his retirement about ten years ago. He was a kind and devoted husband and father and a valued friend, and will be missed by his many acquaintances here.

Survivors are the widow, three daughters, Mrs. Helen Wakeman and Mrs. Ruth Hisel, both of Akron, and Mrs. Vivian Monteith, of Newcastle, Nebr.; a son, Ford, of Akron; six grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p. m., in Immanuel Lutheran church, Rev. Donald H. James officiating. Mrs. Milton Anderson sang "Abide With Me" and "Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling," with accompaniment by Mrs. H. Shoulberg.

Pallbearers were Floyd AVilcox, H. P. Anderson, Dick Bean, Grant Gassman, V. G. Adams and Lyle Jacobs. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
