Harry August Klemme

Harry August Klemme, 95, of Akron died Monday, March 21 in a hospital in Akron after a brief illness. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron. The Rev. Benard Nelson and the Rev. Julian Swanson officiated. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Klemme was born January 18, 1888, at Preston Township, rural Akron. He married Anna Schmidt January 14, 1910, in Preston Township. She died September 24, 1968. He farmed in the Akron area until 1945 when he retired. He operated Perkins Corner at Hull for two years and operated cabins on Lake Okoboji for several years, returning to Akron in 1951.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. George (Ella) Wilier and Mrs. Ted (Wilma) Wilier, both of Akron, and Mrs. Lenora Hansen Dirks of Hawarden; two sons, Embert of Akron and Vernon of Hemet, CA. 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
