Arthur Brundeen

Arthur Brundeen, 92, of Akron, died Saturday (March 11, 1989) in the Akron City Convalescent Care Center after a brief illness.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron. Rev. William Flemr officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery under direction of Schroeder funeral home in Akron. Visitation was held Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Stanley Anderson, Milton Anderson, Don Hansen, James Haug, Arvin Finzen and Lawrence Maynard. Congregational hymns sung were, "What A Friend" and "Children of the Heavenly Father". Carol Harris was organist.

Mr. Brundeen was born Feb. 18, 1897, in Limared, Sweden, son of Alfred and Josephine (Beeck) Brundeen. He came to the United States in 1924 and worked as a farm hand for several years before farming for himself in Union county, S.D., and Plymouth county in Iowa. He retired in 1977 and moved to-Ridgewood Apartments. In 1981, he made his home with a nephew, Donald Brundeen and entered the Akron Care Center in 1984.

Survivors include 16 nieces and nephews in Sweden and four nephews in the United States, Donald Brundeen of Akron, Arnold Brundeen of Mead, Okla., Alfred Brundeen of Denver, Colo., and Erik Karlson of Neosho, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
