Henrietta Moehlmann

Henrietta "Etta" Moehlmann, 94, Chatsworth, died Saturday, June 24, 1989, in the Hawarden Community hospital.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Porter-Dow funeral home in Hawarden. Rev. Allen Bidne, pastor of Trinity Lutheran church in Akron, officiated. Congregational hymns were "Just As I Am", "Amazing Grace", and "Take My Hand", accompanied by Kathy Knight, organist. Burial was in Riverside cemetery at Akron.

Honorary bearers were George Bultman, Warren Wasser and Ernest Hendricks. Active bearers were Gary Hartmann, Gerhard Moller, John Ludwigs, Walter Westergard, Bob Koppert and Charles Hendricks.

The former Henrietta Grunnagle was born Nov. 29, 1894 in Sioux county, Iowa, north of Hawarden. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul Lutheran church in Ireton and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran church in Akron. She married George Moehlmann July 29, 1917 at Akron. He died Jan. 7, 1984. The couple farmed in South Dakota and in Sioux and Plymouth counties in Iowa. They moved to Chatsworth in 1946, where she made her home since.

Survivors are two daughters, Eileen Moehlmann and Mrs. Richard (Edith) Packard, both of Chatsworth; three grandchildren, Carol Hammer of Wall, S.D., Gary Moehlmann of Elk River, Minn. and Lois Solbue of Alcester, S.D. and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Agatha (Braaks) Grunnagle; a son, Albert in 1974; a brother, Herman Grunnagle, a sister, Lena Schuster; and a granddaughter, Betty Ann Moehlmann
