MARVIN MARTIN WAS LIFELONG AKRON RESIDENT

Marvin L. Martin, 39, lifelong Akron area resident, died unexpectedly at his farm home Saturday, April 12, afternoon after suffering a heart attack.

Mr. Martin was born in Plymouth County Dec. 24, 1919. He was a farmer and livestock feeder.

A marine veteran of World War II, Mr. Martin saw service on Guadalcanal, Tarawa, the Gilberts, Saipan, Tinian and the Mariannas. He was a member of Hoeschler Post, American Legion, the Eagles fraternity, and Immanuel Lutheran Church. He married Louise Willer at Akron, Jan. 15, 1957.

Survivors include the widow; his father, Joe Martin of Sioux City; and three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Boyd of Sioux Falls, and Mrs. Irene Braun and Mrs. Geraldine Ransom of Sioux City.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Akron. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
