Funeral Friday for Ella Moeller.
Ella Louise Moeller, 91, of Remsen died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1993 at Floyd Valley Hospital, Le mars, where she had been a patient for two months.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 24 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Craig Miller officiating. Burial was in the Remsen City Cemetery under direction of the Moeller Funeral Home.
Miss Moeller was born Oct. 22, 1902, at Remsen, the daughter of Theodore and Anna (Sievers) Moeller. She graduated from Remsen High School and attended Iowa State University at Ames for two years. She was a member of the college Glee Club and Gamma Thi Beta Sorority. She received a degree in education from the University of Wyoming at Laramie. She taught in the Remsen Public School in the early 1930’s. She then taught for many years at Casper, Wyo. Upon retirement, she moved to Sioux City and made her home with her sister, Emma. In 1974, they moved into a condominium at Remsen.
Miss Moeller was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Emma Moeller of Remsen and Mrs. Harley (Dorothy) Neir of Marcus; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Alfred, Ferdinand, Alonzo and Ervin; and two sisters, Alma Moeller and Beatrice (Toddy) Hornung.
Casket bearers were Ronald Neir, Mike Moats, Dwight Moats, Dayle Moeller, Dennis Moeller and Warren Wallin. – Remsen Bell-Enterprise, Dec. 30, 1993
