Funeral Tuesday for Geo. Kappler.
George John Kappler, 84, of Remsen died Saturday, Aug. 6, 1994 at the Cherokee Villa After a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9 at Christ Lutheran Church, Remsen, with Rev. Robert Eggers officiating. Burial was in the Remsen City Cemetery under direction of the Moeller Funeral Home of Remsen.
Mr. Kappler was born Jan. 27, 1910 in rural Remsen, the son of Jacob and Mary (Seel) Kappler. He attended rural schools. He farmed northeast of Remsen from 1941 until retiring in 1975, when he moved into Remsen.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Remsen.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ray (Esther) Schut of Elkton, S.D.; two nephews, Wayne and Curtis Kappler of Remsen; a niece, Ethel Schut of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a grand-niece and three grand-nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Louis, and two sisters, Anna and Marie. – Remsen Bell-Enterprise, Aug. 11, 1994.
