NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS. REMSEN. (From the Bell.) Death has again visited the home of Mr. J. B. Tebben and took away his youngest son, October 16. We express our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. - Le Mars Sentinel, Oct. 29, 1889, page 2.

OUR COUNTY NEWS. REMSEN. (From the Bell). A son of John Tebben had a small sore on a finger and now the entire arm in swelled from blood poisoning. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Feb. 25, 1895, page. 4
Note: This young child doesn’t appear to have a gravestone in the Remsen cemetery, but his father, John B. Tebben, paid for Lot 22 of Block 1 East in 1896. The lot of 8 gravesites may have other children buried there. The mother’s name was Dora. The father was an auctioneer in Remsen according to the 1897 Plymouth County Directory.
