Charles Frank Lang, 82, retired Remsen farmer, died Friday, July 20 (1973) at Floyd Valley hospital, Le Mars. He had entered the hospital on July 5.
Funeral services for Mr. Lang were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 23 at Christ Lutheran Church here. Rev. Donald G. Wuertz officiated and burial was in the Remsen city cemetery.
Mr. Lang was born March 13, 1891 at Remsen, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Lang.
His marriage to Martha Anna Klingbeil took place Feb. 14, 1912 at Sioux City. They retired from farming in 1945 and moved to Santa Cruz, California where they lived for about two years before returning to Remsen, where they had lived since. Mrs. Lang died in 1970.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Warren (Vione) Schutz of Van Meter, Iowa and Mrs. G. E. (Phyllis) McKimpson of Oelwein, Iowa; a son, Dr. Allen Lang of Iowa City; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Joe, and two sisters, Mrs. Gus Hanno and Mrs. Charles Peters.
Pallbearers were Ervin Hansen, Lester Nitzschke, George Mehlhop, Bob Powell, Elmer Neuenschwander and Elmer Erichsen. The Moeller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. – Liong family news clipping
