Raber, Margaret 1825-1899

Mrs. Margaret Raber, after prolonged suffering for six years; the result of paralysis, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. August Earnest, on Wednesday, Feb. 15th, 1899.
Mrs. Raber was a native of Germany and emigrated to America with her husband Andreas in the early ‘50’s and took up their residence in Pennsylvania and remained there until 1879 when they moved to Iowa, living near Iowa City and in Plymouth county until the time of her death. She was aged 73 years and 9 months. Her children all reside in this county. They are Mrs. John Eichhorn (Catherine), Mrs. August Earnest (Mary Margaret), Mrs. Charles Strub at Remsen (Charlotte) and Fred Raber of Johnson township. The funeral occurred last Friday afternoon, Rev. Hoeppner officiating. The Bell extends its sympathy to the bereaved relatives of the deceased. – Liong family news clipping
