FRANK BERGNER WAS LONGTIME REMSEN FARMER.
Funeral services for Frank H. Bergner, 93, a Remsen area farmer who died Friday night, March 8, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Delia Retzloff in Sioux City, were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Moeller funeral home in Remsen.
Rev. Milton A. Eklund of St. Mark Lutheran church, Sioux City, officiated. Burial was in the Remsen city cemetery.
Mr. Bergner, who had been living with his daughter since January, had been ill for several months. He was born in Germany Feb. 16, 1864, and came to the United States as a child. He had farmed in Illinois and Minnesota before moving to Remsen about 50 years ago. He married Mary Miller at Barnesville, Minn., in 1902. Mrs. Bergner died in 1953.
Survivors include his daughter and three sons, Frank, Jr., of Le Mars, Chester of Remsen and Elmer of Sioux City. – Le Mars Sentinel, March 13, 1957, page 12.
