Ernest Diegel, 71, Died Wednesday. To Hold Final Rites In Remsen Church.
Ernest Digel, 71, died at his home in Remsen Wednesday, August 2, after a fatal illness of several days. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 7, at 2 p.m. in Christ Lutheran church, Remsen. The Rev. A. Noack will officiate at the service and interment at the Remsen city cemetery.
The long time Plymouth and Cherokee county resident was born Oc.t 3, 1878 I Germany and emigrated to the United States at the age of 6. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Digel.
Surviving him are his wife and four daughters: Mrs. William (Emma) Guettner of Remsen, Mrs. Ralph (Alma) Grauer of Marcus, Mrs. Alfred (Ida) Guettner of Remsen and Mrs. Edgar (Clara) Bogt of Los Angeles.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren; a brother, Carl, and a sister, Minnie, both of Marcus. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and one sister.
The body will be at the Fisch funeral home in Remsen until time of the services. – Le Mar Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Aug. 4, 1950, page 8.
