TREINEN, HAACK, JORGENSEN

Effie Treinen, 85, Remsen, died on Thursday, Aug. 29, 1991, at the Floyd Valley Hospital after a brief illness.
The funeral has been set for Saturday, Aug. 31, at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Craig Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen City Cemetery. Visitation has been set for after 2 p.m. at the Moeller Funeral Home.
Mrs. Treinen was born to John Haack and Augusta (Jorgenson) Haack on Jan. 29, 1906, on the family farm northeast of Remsen. She grew up in the Remsen area and attended rural school in Meadow Township. She moved to Remsen with her parents when she was seven and attended Remsen public schools.
On June 21, 1937, she and Peter J. Treinen were married in Remsen. The couple made their home in Remsen after their marriage. Mr. Treinen died on Aug. 21, 1982.
Mrs. Treinen was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Emma Schumacher and Alma Haack, both of Remsen, and Mrs. Bertha Wilen of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five sisters and two brothers. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Aug. 30, 1991, page 7.
