Ed. Reiners died at his home in Remsen township Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock p.m. after an illness of three weeks from liver complaint. Deceased was born in Ost Friese, Hanover, January 9, 1834, and was therefore sixty-seven years of age. In 1883 he came to America, his son having preceded him and lived for a short time in Woodford county, Illinois. In 1883 he came to Remsen, where he has since resided, a good and highly respected citizen. Mr. Reiners leaves a widow and one son Henry, a well known framer near Remsen. The funeral occurred Saturday afternoon at one o’clock from the residence, Rev. P. Hoepener, of the Evangelical Lutheran church, officiated. – Remsen Bell. – Le Mars Globe, Feb. 6, 1901, page 4.
