ERNEST SCHUMACHER RITES SET THURSDAY AT REMSEN CHURCH.
Funeral services for Ernest Schumacher, 79, of Remsen will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church at Remsen.
Rev. Paul Wuebben will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen cemetery under direction of the Moeller funeral home.
Mr. Schumacher, a retired contractor and cabinet maker, died Monday night at Sacred Heart hospital in Le Mars after an illness of two months. He was born May 11, 1887, at Remsen.
His first wife, Minnie, died in 1937, at Remsen.
Survivors are the widow, Emma; three sons, Kenneth and Donald Schumacher, both of Fullerton, Calif., and Al Nothen of Portsville, N. Y.; six daughters, Mrs. Dick Hallett and Mrs. Chuck Engel, both of Spencer, Ms. Geraldine Schumacher of Le Mars, Mrs. Barry Holtgrewe of Storm Lake, and Mrs. John Johnston and Mrs. Borge Jensen, both of Los Angeles; three sisters, Mrs. August Hansen and Mrs. Esther Engelbrecht, both of Remsen, and Mrs. Charles Fanny of Modesto, Calif.; and 40 grandchildren. – Le Mars Globe Post, Sept. 8, 1966, page 6.
