Area Deaths. EDWARD NITZSCHKE DIES AT REMSEN; RITES SET THURSDAY.
Funeral services for Edward H. Nitzschke, Remsen, 77, retired, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran church at Remsen.
Rev. Alfred Christiansen will officiate. Burial will be in the city cemetery under direction of the Moeller funeral home.
Mr. Nitzschke died unexpectedly Monday after suffering a heart attack at his home in Remsen.
He was born on a farm near Remsen May 9, 1889. He married Alvena Erichsen June 17, 1914. They came to Remsen in 1937 and Mr. Nitzschke was employed for 18 years at a grain elevator here before retiring 10 years ago.
Survivors besides the widow are a daughter, Mrs. Harold Presuhn of Remsen, four sons, August and Donald; both of Remsen, Lyle of Sioux City, and Lloyd of Rock Rapids; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Carl Grauer of Marcus, and six brothers, Paul and Otto, both of Remsen, William and Elmer, both of Sioux City, Herman of Minneapolis and Alfred of Marcus. – Le Mars Globe Post, Oct. 27, 1966, page 2.
