Miss Anna Kallsen, longtime resident of Remsen, passed away on July 11, 1955, at the Sacred Heart hospital in Le Mars. She had been ailing for the past several years and was 73 years old.
Miss Kallsen was born February 17, 1882 at Belle Plaine, Iowa, the daughter of Margaretta Schoening Kallsen and Christian Kallsen, both deceased.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14 at Christ Lutheran church in Remsen with Rev. Noack and Rev. Christiansen officiating. Burial was in the Remsen city cemetery under direction of the Moeller funeral home in Remsen. Friends called at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Survivors are cousins and second cousins. Deceased was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters in infancy. – Le Mars Globe Post, July 14, 1955, page 6.
