Martin Delany Died Saturday

Had Been In Poor Health For Years

Martin A. Delaney, who had lived in Plymouth county 65 years, died Saturday, August 2, at his home, 515 Seventh Street S. W., LeMars, after an illness of more than four years following a stroke.

Mr. Delaney was born September 16, 1874 in Galena, Illinois, and farmed for many years after he came to this county in 1882 with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Delaney. On May 7, 1917, he was married to Anna Margaret Aldrich (Ahlrichs), who with eight daughters and two sons survive him.

The children are Mrs. Alwayne Blaue, LeMars; Mrs. Phyllis Kamphoff, Sheldon; Lavonne and Charleen, Sioux City; Mrs. Katherine Martin, Royal, Iowa; Thelma and Marilyn at home; two sons Gerald and William at home and two granddaughters. Mrs. P. F. Swain is a sister. One son preceded Mr. Delaney in death.

Funeral services were held at the Mauer Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon conducted by H. O. Thompson and burial was in the LeMars city cemetery.
