Mrs. Raymond Adams

Mrs. Raymond (Margaret) Adams, 95, of Akron, died Wednesday, June 8, 1988 in the Hawarden Community hospital of a brief illness.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Wesley United Methodist church at Akron with Rev. Peter Peterson officiating. Gary Tucker, soloist, sang "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art", accompanied by organist, Carol Harris. Burial was in Riverside cemetery under direction of the Schroeder funeral home in Akron. Pallbearers were Troy Hemmingsen, Trent Hemmingsen, Curt Harris, Jon
Harris, Craig Harris, and Ron Wych.

Mrs. Adams the former Margaret Harris, was born Jan. 20, 1893 to Reese and Emma Jones Harris in rural Akron. She married Raymond Adams, July 25, 1921 in Sioux City. The couple lived in Iowa City before moving to Akron in 1922, where they farmed their entire married life. Mr. Adams died August 27, 1945. Margaret was a member of Wesley United Methodist church in Akron, where she taught Sunday school for 15 years and past president of the WSCS. She was a member of the GFWC Rural Home Culture club and Garden club.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Gail (Miriam E.) Hemmingsen of Akron; four grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Barbara Harris, three brothers, Curtis, Evin and Orin Harris, and one great-grandson, Ryan Hemmingsen.
